Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 2026-08-01

Healing Space UK is designed to be usable across modern browsers and mobile/desktop form factors, with active work toward stronger accessibility assurance.

Current position

  • Keyboard navigation and semantic landmarks are used in core public pages.
  • Responsive layouts support small and large screens.
  • Accessibility improvements are included in ongoing remediation work.

Automated testing

Every build runs an automated axe-core accessibility scan against our core public pages (home, sign-in, privacy, terms, this statement, and cookies), checked against WCAG 2.1 A and AA rules. A build fails if a new critical or serious issue is introduced. Page zoom is verified too, so text can be resized on mobile.

Automated tools reliably detect only a minority of accessibility barriers. A passing scan is a regression safety net, not a statement of conformance.

Known gaps

Independent WCAG conformance auditing is a roadmap item and has not yet been completed. We do not claim independent conformance before evidence exists. Manual keyboard and screen-reader testing across the full application is also still outstanding.

One known issue is currently unresolved: a primary button on the sign-in page has a text contrast ratio of 4.46:1 against its background, marginally below the 4.5:1 AA threshold. It is recorded and tracked rather than left undiscovered.

Reporting barriers

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, use the homepage contact form and include details of device, browser, and the action you were trying to complete.
